Become a Donor

Scientific study of brain-based diseases is often slowed by the shortage of brains, including healthy brains for comparison studies.  A brain donation is a gift of hope for cures for brain disorders for future generations.  If you are interested, read on….  If you would like more information on becoming a brain donor or the brain bank program call 1 800 UM BRAIN or in Florida 305-243-6219.

How to register to become a brain donor
The first step in becoming a brain donor is to answer the following questionnaire to see if you are eligible.  The reasons an application might not be eligible would include having a major stroke that resulted in paralysis or loss of speech, having brain cancer or a severe infectious disease.

This questionnaire can be completed and sent to us on line or it can be printed out and mailed to The Brain Endowment Bank^TM, 1501 Northwest 9th Avenue, Room 4013 (D4-5), Miami, Florida  33136.  We will accept your calls at 1 800 UM BRAIN and a Brain Bank staff member will help you to register by phone.
